The Mall Group Co., Ltd. began its operation as a shopping mall by launching the first branch on 25 June 1981 in Rajdamri. It rented out this branch to Naraiphand Pavilion Co., Ltd. who converted it into Thailandís largest handicraft center. The Mall Groupís board of directors and management team had a long-term vision of opening malls in suburban areas where no one has invested in yet.
The Mall Ramkamhaeng The Mall 2 on Ramkamhaeng road debuted on 22 December 1983. The second branch became well known and trusted by customers who frequented the shopping mall within a short period of time. The company decided to expand the business by opening another mall across the street called The Mall Shopping Center or The Mall 3 on 27 November 1986. Later, on 18 October 1986, this branch was connected to The Mall 2 by a moving walkway bridge. The company launched a modern entertainment center and international restaurants at The Mall 4, making The Mall a truly one-stop-shop in the Ramkamhaeng area.

It was 11 August 1989 when The Mall premiered the ultimate mall, The Mall Tha Praor The Mall 5, which was the largest, most comprehensive mall consisting of department stores, entertainment centers, and the first rooftop water park in Thailand, all on a 150,000-square-meter space.
The Mall Ngamwongwan On 22 December 1991, another mega shopping mall, even more grandiose than The Mall 5, was launched on a 250,000-square-meter space in Ngamwongwan. It was aptly called The Mall Ngamwongwan or The Mall 6. It became another mall that The Mall team is proud of.

Emporium is a luxury shopping mall in Khlong Toei district, Bangkok, Thailand. It opened in 1997. It is owned and operated by The Mall Group and another mall, Siam Paragon. It is on Sukhumvit Road at Sukhumvit Soi 24 beside Queen's Park. It is connected directly to the Phrom Phong Station on the Sukhumvit Line of the BTS Skytrain by a footbridge.
